The Brecon Beacons Adjust Their Strategy

A new name, logo and strategy for the national park

Bannau Brycheiniog

(Ban-nai Br-cain-iog)

That’s the new official name that is being used to identify the National Park known as the Brecon Beacons.

Along with the name change there is a new logo that has been designed to better reflect the identity and purpose of the Bannau Brycheiniog. The carbon emitting brazier has been replaced with a landscape, crown and starry sky, aligning with their campaign to reach net-zero emissions by 2035.

This fascinates me because at the moment humans seem to be in a predicament between pleasing the new ways of thinking — not wanting to cause offence — but still wanting to retain their heritage and characteristics that make them unique. Perhaps it has always been that way.

But… what I do know is that great design and a thoughtful marketing campaign can really help with radical changes and offer an intellectual platform to share the purpose, mission and vision of a business, or in this case, a beautiful corner of Wales.
